For over 14 years Chef Ian Moroney and Hillary Bor of Pumpkin have brought honest new-American food to the table.

Their daily changing menu is dedicated to what’s rooted in tradition, from the heritage of local produce to the vast global provenance.

The genre of contemporary BYOB is barely two decades old, so surviving 14 years in a without the benefit of a liquor license — and maintaining an ambitious streak — earns Pumpkin senior-class status. Hillary Bor and Ian Moroney have always made the most of the 26 seats in the tiny cash-only South Street nook, with an ever-appealing menu that channels quality ingredients and seasonality for a sophisticated meal tended by well-informed servers.
